Identification and Phylogenetic Analysis of Chitin Synthase Genes from the Deep-Sea Polychaete Branchipolynoe onnuriensis Genome

Chitin, one of the most abundant biopolymers in nature, is a crucial material that provides sufficient rigidity to exoskeleton. In addition, chitin valuable substance both medical and industrial fields. The synthesis catalyzed by synthase (CHS) enzymes. Although pathway highly conserved from fungi invertebrates, CHSs have mostly only been investigated insects crustaceans. Especially, little known about annelids hydrothermal vents. To understand evolutionary view deep-sea environment, we first generated whole-genome sequencing parasitic polychaete Branchipolynoe onnuriensis. We identified seven putative CHS genes (BonCHS1-BonCHS7) domain searches phylogenetic analyses. This study showed crustaceans single copy or two gene copies, whereas at least independent duplication events occur B. obtained species inhabiting vent will provide insight into various organisms’ adaptation hosts.
